| These photos come from a 2011 reunion of the
descendants of John and Nannie Adkins.
Nannie was the 2nd daughter of Alexander
Wood and was born February 7, 1860. She spent her childhood on a farm
just below Lover's Leap in Patrick County. Her siblings were Mary,
James Alexander, Thomas Edward, David German, Lillie Ann, Mattie,
William Elijah, Sarah Lucinda and Samuel Nelson Wood. She married
John Adkins from Franklin County and they
made their home just off Central Academy Road in Patrick County. Nannie and John had 5 children: Will, Thomas Everett, Doss, Charles
