Often the Bassett Historical Center is lucky enough to have Bob Vogler give a program. Today, August 7, 2018, he gave an excellent presentation on George Washington. It was a bit different from the usual Washington fare. He described his dental problems and the teeth that were not wood but teeth from various animals put together in a denture. And he described Washington's skill at land dealings, his dislike of being touched, his love of dancing (3 hours at a stretch with the same woman), his terrible death hastened by bloodlettings, and so on. These programs are quite good. If you missed it well you missed a good one .... |
